About Marcela Gómez


A native of Bogotá, Colombia, Marcela graduated from high school in Charlotte, North Carolina, and earned the bachelor’s degree in advertising from Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano in Bogotá.  Following graduation, Marcela was advertising coordinator with Editorial Unilit, in Miami.  She moved to Nashville in 1994 and worked as marketing and sales director of the Latin American market for Swanson Christian Supplies.  She then joined Thomas Nelson Publisher’s Editorial Caribe Spanish Language Division as a sales representative and later was promoted to marketing director. In 2002 she founded a Hispanic marketing full-service bicultural and bilingual agency.

Miss Gómez specializes in connecting effectively with the diverse and continuously changing Hispanic markets, helping her clients know who they are, how they think, what they need and want and how they prefer to receive communication. Marcela has worked with packaged goods companies, universities, public utilities, consumer, corporate, non-profit and business-to-business clients in industries, such a wireless, sports, transportation, education, government, banking and finance, food, healthcare, and the arts. She plays a key role in the development of marketing, communications and grassroots campaigns, from conception and brand development to production.


She is the current president and board chair of the Tennessee Latin American Chamber of Commerce.  Marcela is a former board chair and inaugural board member of Conexión Americas, has served on the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce board of governors as well as the Metropolitan Nashville Human Relations Commission, Nashville Municipal Auditorium Commission and the boards of YWCA, Oasis Center and Center for Nonprofit Management boards. She enjoys films, theater, ballet, opera and the symphony. Marcela also loves to travel, dance, and try new restaurants. She has a 27-year-old son, Esteban Pedraza, who is an award-winning film director residing in Brooklyn, NY.
