February Breakfast Meeting
Making Time
A Presentation by
Dr. Jill Austin
Time is a measure of our own making. We set our clocks and we measure our days and hours and minutes. We have “to do” lists with deadlines that we must meet. We think we can learn to multi-task, find “quality time” for others, and we talk about searching for work-life balance. There are so many things we say we have no time to do. While we think we manage time, time often manages us. Developing time management skills can help us be efficient with our time, but a system does not solve our time issue. Harvey MacKay is quoted as saying “Time is free, but it’s priceless. You can’t own it, but you can use it. You can’t keep it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it you can never get it back.” The critical question related to time is how is our time best spent?
