Over a three-decade career in key management and leadership roles in three global corporations, Patricia James has developed and executed successful strategies for sustainable change in human resources and shared services.
Recognized as an inspirational leader, coach, and mentor, James has advised leaders at every level, from CEO to emerging leader. She has a passion for mentoring, coaching, and lifelong learning.
Patti’s career began as an HR analyst at Shell Oil, followed by time with Schlumberger Limited, before joining part of what is now Bridgestone Americas from 1992 to 2013. Following retirement from Bridgestone Americas, James revitalized a regional nonprofit leadership program by applying business expertise and experience to an organization focused on stronger leadership for organizations in Middle Tennessee.
Currently, James operates her own consulting firm, PB&J Consulting. She provides career transition and executive coaching, competency-based training course design and delivery, and business development services to private and corporate clients. James also serves as an Advisory Director for Stanton Chase, a global retained executive search and consulting firm.
James holds BSBA and MBA degrees from The Ohio State University and a Master of Arts in Civic Leadership from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. She is active in the nonprofit community, serving as Vice Chair, Women’s Leadership for Nashville Cable and Board Member for Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee. James mentors in the Rutherford CABLE Protégé program, Middle Tennessee SHRM Student Mentor and Leadership Development Programs, The OSU Fisher College of Business Alumni Mentor Program, tnAchieves, and WOMEN Unlimited, Inc. In 2011, she was named a Women of Influence by the Nashville Business Journal. In 2018, James was an Athena Leadership Award nominee in Nashville.
