About Robert Lawrence Wilson:

Robert Lawrence Wilson is Director of Diversity and Inclusion for Nissan Americas.   Based in the Nissan Americas Franklin, TN headquarters, Robert is responsible for diversity and inclusion strategy and execution throughout Nissan’s North and South American region. His responsibilities include employee diversity training and education, regional diversity promotion, Nissan’s employee resource group program, as well as development of Nissan’s diversity strategy for multicultural marketing, workforce, dealer, supplier diversity and community outreach.  Robert also serves as secretary of the Nissan Americas executive diversity council.

Robert joined Nissan as Senior Manager, vehicle quality engineering at the Smyrna, TN manufacturing facility.  He then moved to Total Customer Satisfaction (TCS) as Senior Manager, vehicle quality improvement and helped develop the quality improvement strategy for Nissan’s midterm business plan. Prior to his current role in diversity and inclusion, Robert was Senior Manager, customer satisfaction and helped develop Nissan’s strategy for dealer sales and service customer satisfaction improvement.

Robert holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor as well as well as a master’s degree in business administration from Duke University. Well regarded for his vision, strategic thinking, and change management expertise, he has achieved the Nissan equivalent of a six sigma green belt.
